How to apply

Documents to submit:

1. Form no. 2*;
2. The ID copy of the vehicle’s owner or his/her entrusted person;
3. Original of the vehicle’s registration document (livrete, in Portuguese);
4. Drawings of scale 1:20 or photos showing the design of the modification subject to application, if it involves alteration/installation/change of parts;
5. Declaration of technical safety, list of materials used and installation responsibility declaration form (No. 017/DV), regarding the alteration/installation/change of parts;
6. The industrial license copy* and the turnover tax receipt copy* of the workshop responsible for the modification subject to application.
   *Not required if the modification concerned is only installation of accessories.

Documents to produce:

1. Original of the identification document of the vehicle’s owner or his/her entrusted person;
2. Original of the vehicle’s registration document (livrete, in Portuguese);
3. Document of the registered vehicle owner;
4. Valid insurance document of the vehicle.

• Centre for Motorcycle Inspection (Centro de Inspecção de Motociclo em Macau, or CIMM, in Portuguese)

Costs

Charges and fees

• Installation of accessories on motor scooter/motorcycle: MOP$1,200
• Installation of accessories on light/heavy vehicle: MOP$2,000
• Assessment and approval of modification subject to application: MOP$3,000, plus,
  Application for special inspection: MOP$2,000 (per vehicle) or MOP$1,200 (per motor scooter/motorcycle)
• Application form: Free
• Stamp duty: Not required

Notes for attention

1. The application can be made by the vehicle’s owner or his/her entrusted person.
2. To improve the inspection procedure and reduce the waiting time, from the 1^st of January 2020, all inspections related to motor scooters and motorcycles will only be performed at the Centre for Motorcycle Inspection (CIMM), except for driving instruction vehicles.
3. Only motor scooter/motorcycle related applications can be made at the Centre for Motorcycle Inspection (CIMM).
4. After obtaining approval, the applicant should apply for special inspection within 90 days; otherwise, the process in question will be terminated.
5. The vehicle concerned must undergo special inspection within 60 days from the day of application. If no special inspection took place within this period, a new application must be presented and an extra fee will be applied.
6. The vehicles authorized for the special inspection should arrive at the Inspection Centre within the period indicated for that purpose. Before designing to utilize the service at the Inspection Centre, it is advised to consult the official website of DSAT regarding the availability of the daily inspection quota. It is only permitted to enter the Inspection Centre when there is a quota available for that day.
7. Owners who need to change the inspection booked should do so before the scheduled appointment day. For advancement or deferral of inspection, an extra fee of MOP$400 per motor vehicle applies.
