Local shippers who choose to carry out sea-bound container mass verification in Macao are required to follow the “Guidelines on the Verification of Gross Mass of a Packed Container” (no English translation).

Approved weighing equipment can be used for providing sea-bound container weighing service.

Registration of Shipper Using “Method 2” to Verify the Gross Mass of Containers:
The Marine and Water Bureau will assign a registration number to the shipper, who is allowed to weigh all the packages and cargo items in the sea-bound container, according to the recognized procedures, adding the tare mass of the container to the sum.
