How to Apply
Application Deadline
The renewal application must be raised by the employer of the limited licence holder 90 days before the licence expires.
Application procedures and documents required
- Limited Licence Renewal Application Form – Section I;
- Limited Licence Renewal Application Form – Section II;
- Copy of the proof of the health professional’s participation in continuing professional development activities;
- Copy of the Professional Civil Liability Mandatory Insurance policy (which can be exempted if the legal-person healthcare service provider has purchased the insurance for the licence holder and has already submitted a copy of the valid insurance policy);
- Other documents (such as the latest academic or professional qualification certificates) (if any).
Notes:
- The licence is valid for one year; the licence holder’s employer must apply for renewal 90 days before the licence expires, otherwise the licence will become invalid.
- If the licence holder fulfils the application requirements, the Medical Activity Licensing Unit will notify their employer to bring along the health professional’s old licence to complete the renewal procedures and collect the new licence.
- At the time the employer submits an application to renew the limited licence, the licence holder must be working in the same profession as the one approved; if the licence holder has changed their profession, their employer must submit a new limited licence application to the Health Bureau along with relevant documents.
Processing Time
Around 20 working days under normal circumstances.
