How to Apply
Application Deadline
To ensure the applicant has already obtained the internship licence when the internship starts, the applicant must submit the licence application at least 30 days beforehand.
Application procedures and documents required
- Internship Licence Application Form (including the Declaration of Absence of Conflicts, which declares that the applicant is not engaged in any activity in conflict with the internship as stated in the licence being applied for);
- Copy of the temporary registration certificate issued by the Health Professional Council (the original certificate must be presented to Health Bureau staff for verification);
- Declaration of Acceptance from the duly recognised establishment where the applicant intends to undergo the internship;
- Certificate of Physical and Mental Health issued by a Health Centre of the Health Bureau;
- Certificate of Criminal Record (which can be applied for at the Identification Services Bureau, via a self-service kiosk or the bureau’s website, and will be directly delivered to the Health Bureau by the Identification Services Bureau);
- Copy of the applicant’s Macao Resident ID Card.
Notes:
- The applicant must satisfy all statutory requirements for internship at the time the licence is applied for;
- During an internship, the intern must not be engaged in any public or private business activities without permission from the Health Professional Council;
- The internship licence is valid until the day when the internship concludes.
- Before starting the internship the applicant must, within 15 days after the day of receiving the internship notification, submit the policy of the Professional Civil Liability Mandatory Insurance of Health Service Providers or the Declaration Certifying the Purchase of Professional Civil Liability Mandatory Insurance to the Medical Activity Licensing Unit, in order to prove their compliance with Article 36 of Law no. 5/2016 – Legal Regime of Medical Malpractice and Articles 3 and 4 of Administrative Regulation no. 5/2017 as amended by Administrative Regulation no. 49/2021.

Mondays to Thursdays: 9:00am-1:00pm, 2:30pm-5:45pm
Fridays: 9:00am-1:00pm, 2:30pm-5:30pm

MOP 330 (stamp duty included), payable in full upon licence collection.

Around 22 working days under normal circumstances.
