Service Overview

Scope of Service

For the purposes of plant and animal protection, medical and food safety, public safety and taxation etc., the Macao Special Administrative Region implements a prior authorisation system for the import of related goods through license.

 

Targets of Services and Application Eligibility

Targets of Service

  1. applicants importing specimens of CITES-regulated species.
  2. applicants importing goods subject to prior authorisation.
  3. applicants re-importing goods subject to control.

Notes: Applicant for import license who intends to import goods under control is required to first process the Registration for Controlled External Trade Operations.

Application Eligibility

According to the provisions of Law n.° 7/2003, amended by Law n.° 3/2016 – “External Trade Law”, natural or legal persons who have fulfilled their tax obligations, especially business tax and consumption tax in the Macao Special Administrative Region, may conduct external trade activity.

Result of Approval for Application

Issuance of import license.
