Extension of “Authorization to Stay”

Non-residents are required to apply for Extension of Authorization to Stay or Exceptional Extension of Authorization to Stay according to Article 11 or 29 of Law No. 16/2021 and Article 11 of Administrative Regulation No. 38/2021 if they need to extend the limit of their Authorization to Stay.


Target Groups and Application Eligibility

Target Group

Extension of Authorization to Stay: Persons who need to extend the limit of their Authorization to Stay for an accumulative total of no more than 90 days
Exceptional Extension of Authorization to Stay: on humanitarian grounds or other justifiable grounds worth exceptional consideration, application to be submitted to the Chief Executive

Application Eligibility

Meeting the stipulations relevant to the Legal Regime of Immigration Control, Stay and Residence Authorization of the Macao Special Administrative Region
(e.g.(1) Meeting the stipulations relevant to the system of entry, stay and residence authorization in Macao; and (2) Not in a lawfully restricted status.)

Slip of Authorization to Stay with new limit of stay issued to the applicant by the Residence and Stay Affairs Department
