Services Related to Procedures of Sea-bound Container Mass Verification

Introduction

Local shippers who choose to carry out sea-bound container mass verification in Macao are required to follow the “Guidelines on the Verification of Gross Mass of a Packed Container” (no English translation).

Target Groups and Application Eligibility

Approval of Weighing Equipment of Container:
Company/shipper providing weighing of containers

Registration of Shipper Using “Method 2” to Verify the Gross Mass of Containers:
Shipper

Application Result

Approval of Weighing Equipment of Container:
Approved weighing equipment can be used for providing sea-bound container weighing service.

Notes: Information of approved applicants will be listed in the 4.1.2 “List of Approved Weighing Equipment” in the “Guidelines on the Verification of Gross Mass of a Packed Container” (no English translation).

Registration of Shipper Using “Method 2” to Verify the Gross Mass of Containers:
The Marine and Water Bureau will assign a registration number to the shipper, who is allowed to weigh all the packages and cargo items in the sea-bound container, according to the recognized procedures, adding the tare mass of the container to the sum.
