The Macao SAR Government will ban unmanned aircraft activities in certain zones in Macao during the helicopter sightseeing tours to ensure that the tours will take place in a safe environment.

The helicopter sightseeing tours, which is one of the “Macao Ready Go” economic revival measures, will be conducted at a relatively lower height alongside Taipa and Coloane. Considering that it is necessary to establish the clearance for the sightseeing route and hence guaranteeing the safety of the passengers, the Civil Aviation Authority will ban the unmanned aircraft activities in certain zones (see the map) between 14:00 to 18:00 on Wednesdays to Sundays from 31 July to 30 August 2020, in accordance with the powers granted to the Authority on the prohibition and the restriction of flying areas as stipulated in Article 66 of the Air Navigation Regulation of Macau which is approved in the Executive Order No. 64/2019.

No person can perform the drone activities in the restricted zones on the above period. Anyone who does not comply with the prohibition will be fined for MOP2, 000.00 to MOP20, 000.00 by the Civil Aviation Authority.

The above notice is listed in Despacho No. 008/AACM/20 published in today’s Official Gazette No. 31, Series II.
