目的 1. Understand and evaluate the fundamental transformations inflicted by China’s modern challenges both domestically and externally; 2. Understand the social, cultural, and political aspects of change that led to China’s modern national formation; 3. Critically assess and evaluate Qing China’s efforts in reformist solutions and the historical significance of the 1911 Revolution and China’s early republican experiment; 4. Examine and assess not only the proximate causes of historical events but also the deeper, more structural contexts behind them.
