FSS President Iong Kong Io Exchanges and Discusses Social Security Policies with Teachers and Students of MUST
In order to deepen the young people’s understanding of the social security policies of the Macao SAR, the President of the Administrative Committee of the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao), Iong Kong Io, recently visited the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) to introduce the old-age security policies such as the Social Security System and the Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System, on the theme of “Two-Tier Social Security System, Walking with You Through Your Life Journey”, and shared and exchanged views on financial management with teachers and students there.

2019 Macao International Parade takes outreach activities to the community Foreign performing groups take the stage one after the other
The “2019 Macao International Parade”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Macao’s handover to China, will be held on 8 December. The participating groups have been staging a series of outreach performances in various districts since 18 November, seeking to have interaction with the public and spread the festive atmosphere of the Parade. Starting from 5 December, a number of foreign art groups will bring excellent performances to various local districts for three consecutive days.

Consumer Council released 1st supermarket price survey report of the current month
The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the first-half of December on 4 December for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 14 supermarkets in Nossa Senhora de Fátima Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.

Worship ceremony to pray for success of the Parade Celebration of the Handover
In order to pray for the success of the “2019 Macao International Parade” in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Macao’s Handover to China, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) held a worship ceremony at the Ruins of St. Paul’s today (4 December). The worship ceremony was attended by the President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Mok Ian Ian; the Deputy Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, Cheng Wai Tong; the Vice Presidents of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Leong Wai Man and Chan Kai Chon; the Head of the Department of Operational Planning of the Public Security Police Force, Chio Song Un; the Head of the Department of Operations of the Islands of the Fire Services Bureau, Kong Iat Fu; the President of the Macao General Union of Neighbourhood Associations, Leong Heng Kao; the Assistant to Chief Executive Officer of Air Macau Company Limited, Wen Dexin; the Manager of Production Department of TDM, Ltd., Leong Chon Wa and representatives of the local art groups. The ceremony included a lion dance performance with representatives of the art groups dressed up in full costume, creating a cheerful and lively atmosphere and attracting many spectators.

The IFTM Global Centre for Tourism Education and Training organised a training programme on “Sustainable Tourism Planning and Regional Development”, held from 27 November to 4 December. The course was staged in Macao in collaboration with the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Over 1,000 shops awarded 2020 “Certified Shop” emblem Consumer Council and MGTO cooperate to promote high-quality tourism service
1,030 shops have passed the annual assessment of the “Certified Shop” mechanism of the Consumer Council and are awarded the 2020 “Certified Shop” emblem, 28 of them are classified as Class A “Certified Shops”. The Consumer Council held the 2019 Class A “Certified Shop” Award Ceremony on 3rd December to announce the list, shops that meet the requirements of both “Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme” and “Certified Shop” mechanism were also awarded the “Star Merchant Award”, both the Consumer Council and Macao Government Tourism Office believe this cooperation has achieved its greatest synergy effect in strengthening the protection of consumer rights and in enhancing the service culture of local tourism retail service.
