Macao Orchestra’s Concert “Rhythm in Your Rubbish” cancelled Members of the public with tickets can request refund from today
The concert “Rhythm in Your Rubbish” by the Macao Orchestra, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, originally scheduled to be held on 1 December, at 2:30pm and 5:30pm, at the Macao Tower Auditorium, and the associated “Music Workshop”, originally scheduled to be held on 30 November, will be cancelled due to programme adjustments. Spectators with tickets can request the respective refund at the Macau Ticketing Network outlets from today to 31 December by presenting the intact tickets. For enquiries, please contact the Macau Ticketing Network hotline through tel. no. 28555555 or the Macao Orchestra hotline through tel. no. 28530782, during office hours. The Cultural Affairs Bureau sincerely thanks the public for their understanding and support. In the future, the Macao Orchestra will launch more fascinating programmes. UM’s FBA celebrates 30th anniversary
The University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) held a kick-off ceremony to celebrate its 30th anniversary on 11 November. Over the past 30 years, the faculty has produced many outstanding graduates for society and has earned international recognition for its high-quality business education. FBA is Macao’s first business school that has earned accreditation from both the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Association of MBAs (AMBA). It is also a full member of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).

UM holds 17th Portuguese Speech Contest
The Department of Portuguese under the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) today (November 27) held the 17th Portuguese Speech Contest in the UM Wu Yee Sun Library. The event aimed to promote Portuguese language studies, increase students’ interest in learning Portuguese, and reward the best-performing students.

IFTM Culinary Arts Management students helps 40 years old restaurant to target new markets
Dr. Fernando Lourenço led Culinary Arts Management programme students from the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) to support Aphelion Media Limited on a project to help Medan Indonesia Restaurant to rejuvenate its forty-seven years old brand. This project belongs to a government scheme initiated by the Macao Economic Bureau to help established old brands to enhance their competitiveness.

Consumer Council released 8th supermarket price survey report of the current month
The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the second-half of November on 27 November for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 7 supermarkets in Taipa and Coloane Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.

Macao films Diago and Nobody Nose screened at the “China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival”
The “28th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival” was held from 19 to 23 November in Xiamen, Fujian province. The films Diago and Nobody Nose, directed by Macao writer Lio Chi Heng, were screened at the “Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Film Festival” session. A delegation of representatives from the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the local film industry attended the Festival in Xiamen on 20 November, during which they exchanged views with representatives of the film industry from all over the world and promoted Macao films.

Employment survey for August-October 2019
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the general unemployment rate for August-October 2019 held steady over the previous period (July-September 2019), at 1.8%; the unemployment rate of local residents was 2.4%, down by 0.1 percentage point. Meanwhile, the underemployment rate was 0.5%, up by 0.1 percentage point.

Unmanned aircraft activities are banned during 20th anniversary of Macao SAR
