IC organizes a delegation to participate in the 12th Cross-strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair
The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) of the Macao SAR Government recently organized a delegation of ten local cultural and creative entities to participate in the 12th Cross-strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair (hereinafter referred to as “CCCIF”) in Xiamen. The Macao Creative Pavilion has been set up to showcase Macao’s cultural and creative products and services in a bid to expand the market and foster regional cooperation between Fujian and Macao in the cultural and creative fields.

Wages of construction workers and prices of construction materials for the 3rd quarter of 2019
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the average daily wage of construction workers decreased by 3.8% quarter-to-quarter to MOP715 in the third quarter of 2019. The average daily wages of concrete formwork carpenters (MOP705), structural iron erectors (MOP725) and bricklayers & plasterers (MOP690) dropped by 12.2%, 11.4% and 9.0% respectively, while the wages of concreters (MOP763) and welders (MOP901) increased by 13.5% and 9.6% respectively. The average daily wage of local construction workers edged down by 0.1% to MOP986, whereas that of non-resident construction workers grew by 3.0% to MOP615.

The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, today said a piece of research by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences had aimed to provide a point of objective reference in relation to successful practise of the "One country, two systems" principle with Macao characteristics.

UM hosts ‘internet+’ innovation and entrepreneurship competition
The Second ‘Internet+’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for University Students from China and Portuguese-speaking Countries was held at the University of Macau (UM) recently. The project of a Brazilian team from Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul, ‘key2enable’, won the Gold Award, while the project of a Portuguese team from University of Aveiro, ‘YouClap’, won a Silver Award. A Chinese team from Fudan University also won a Silver Award for their project, a big data platform for inspection of medical institutions for market access and compliance.
