Consolidating Achievements in Traditional Medicine Economic and Trade Cooperation and Sharing Experience in International Promotion of TCM Business Matching Forum of “2019 Traditional Medicine International Cooperation Forum (Macao, China)” Was Successfully Held
During the “2019 Traditional Medicine International Cooperation Forum (Macao, China)”, the “Business Matching Forum – Seminar on Economic and Trade Cooperation of Portuguese-speaking Countries in Traditional Medicine” was held on 26 September, at The Venetian Macao. Over 400 government representatives, traditional medicine experts, business representatives, and domestic and foreign distributors from Macao, Mainland China, the European Union, Africa, South America and the ASEAN countries attended the Forum. The representatives shared insights on the current development, market features, international trade and registration cases of traditional medicine and phytomedicine in Europe, Africa, South America and the ASEAN countries, as well as their interpretations of relevant laws and regulations.

Activating TCM Innovation Resources in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and Promoting Integration of the Industry, Universities and Research Institutes Scientific and Technological Achievements Sharing Forum of the “2019 Traditional Medicine International Cooperation Forum (Macao, China)” Successfully Concluded
The “Transformation Base for TCM Scientific and Technological Achievements in the Greater Bay Area” held its first event after establishment, the Scientific and Technological Achievements Sharing Forum, at The Venetian Macao on 26 September. More than 400 people attended the event, including experts from 11 higher education institutions in Macao and other cities in the Greater Bay Area, and representatives of well-known companies and third-party agencies. The event aims to make full use of the advantages of GMTCM Park as a public service platform to promote the transfer and transformation of TCM scientific and technological achievements in universities and research institutes in the Greater Bay Area, thus contributing to the development of the TCM industry.

UM holds its first EDP programme on data analysis and smart tourism
The Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming (ISCG), under the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), recently held the faculty’s first in-house executive development programme (EDP) on data analysis and smart tourism, titled ‘Integrated Resort and Tourism Management Development Workshop: Data Analysis and Smart Tourism’. The workshop attracted senior executives from the integrated resort and tourism industry. During the workshop, participants learned how to use new methods to understand the behaviours of their target customers.

Respond to the Universal Postal Union for the celebration of the World Post Day, the Postal Administration achieves various activities relative to this event. October is a Contribution Month and FSS Reminds Residents to Pay Contributions on Time
October is a contribution month of the Social Security Fund. Employers are required to pay in this month the contributions of the obligatory system for their local long-term employees for the third quarter of 2019. If they have hired a non-resident worker, they are also required to pay the employment fee as well. In addition, beneficiaries of the arbitrary system are also required to pay contributions in October. To save time waiting in line, the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) calls for members of the public to make full use of the electronic payment options. Businesses, or residents of the Islands District can also go to the Macao Government Services Centre in Islands (Area of Social Security) to make their payments.

Barbados has granted visa-free access to Macao SAR passport holders
The Macao SAR Government has received confirmation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China that Macao SAR passport holders do not need a visa for visiting Barbados for a stay of up to 30 days.
