“Art Macao” diversified exhibitions become artistic hot spots in summer

This summer, “Art Macao”, a six-month mega event, brings an immersive cultural atmosphere to the entire city as an art gallery and art garden. Diversified art exhibitions and large-scale outdoor installations are displayed at various locations, breaking through the limitations of space and allowing art lovers to feel the artistic ambience of Macao in this hot summer.




Secretary Tam: National progress inspires young people to serve Macao

The four-day visit to Hunan Province by a group of young Macao people helped them to understand better the nation’s development in a number of areas, including in the fields of science and technology. Such achievements were a source of inspiration for them to contribute further to Macao’s development strategy.




Consumer price index (CPI) for June 2019

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI (115.80) for June 2019 increased by 2.62% year-on-year, down further by 0.07 percentage points from the growth in May (+2.69%). The increment in June was attributable to dearer charges for eating out, rising rentals for dwellings, as well as higher prices of motor cars, gasoline, fruits and fresh pork.


Visitor arrivals for June 2019

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals totalled 3,095,853 in June 2019, up by 18.9% year-on-year. Same-day visitors (1,567,434) surged by 35.4% and overnight visitors (1,528,419) grew by 5.7%. As the proportion of same-day visitors (50.6%) expanded by 6.2 percentage points year-on-year, the average length of stay of visitors shortened by 0.1 day to 1.2 days, with that of overnight visitors and same-day visitors holding steady at 2.2 days and 0.2 day respectively.


Civil Aviation Authority concludes the runway incursion incident report

The Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR (AACM) has concluded the investigation of the runway incursion incident which occurred in November last year at Macau International Airport. To prevent similar occurrences, the Authority has issued safety recommendations to the airport to take measures to ensure the air traffic controllers stay focused on their responsibilities during work and ensure the normal operations of the surface movement radar.


Water quality at Cheoc Van found abnormal Going into water is not recommended

The Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA) was informed by the Laboratory of the Municipal Affairs Bureau that the test results from the water samples from Cheoc Van Beach proved positive for Vibrio cholera. DSAMA has reported the case to the Disease Prevention and Control Centre of the Health Bureau and has hoisted the red flag at the beach, advising residents not to go into the water. Notices have also been put up at the beach to remind the public about the situation. No abnormality has been detected at Hac Sa Beach. Related departments will continue to monitor the situation and provide the public with the latest information in a timely manner.
