Judiciary Police's Storm Surge Evacuation Simulation Drill to raise Command and Response Abilities
Typhoon season is drawing close, the Judiciary Police has organized another “Storm Surge Evacuation plan in Low-lying areas during Typhoon” simulation drill on 30 June 2019, under the coordination of the Unitary Police Service, to facilitate a quick, safe and orderly evacuation during storm surge and typhoon. In the meantime, simulation drills were also conducted among 6 gaming companies with the participation of the Judiciary Police and the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau to review their disaster management and evacuation procedures.

GMBPF is well-prepared and exhibition carnival opens in late July
The “Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair 2019” (2019GMBPF), jointly organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, will be held at the Venetian Macao from July 26 to 28. Embracing trade, cultural exchanges, shopping, leisure and entertainment, this year’s fair will turn itself into a “refreshing carnival” for exhibitors and visitors by striving to provide all participants a wonderful time and adding new Macao-featured elements inspired by the opportunities arising from the country’s fast development and Macao’s own advantages.

“A Cherished Memory from 1999 ― Archives Exhibition in Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Macao to the Motherland” inaugurated
The “2nd Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is going to present residents and tourists a series of highlight activities. Among which, “A Cherished Memory from 1999 ― Archives Exhibition in Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Macao to the Motherland”, organized by the Archives of Macao, was inaugurated on 28 June, at 6pm. The exhibition is held until 27 December and admission is free. In conjunction with the exhibition, a thematic lecture will be held on 29 June, at 3pm, at the Archives of Macao. All are welcome.

Judiciary Police organizes storm surge evacuation drill on Sunday 30 June 2019
In view of the coming of the typhoon season, Judiciary Police continues to hold briefing sessions and simulation drills under the coordination of the Unitary Police Service to strengthen public awareness on disaster prevention and storm surge evacuation in order to facilitate speedy, safe and orderly evacuations among members of the public during typhoon and storm surge.

External merchandise trade statistics for May 2019
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total merchandise export for May 2019 amounted to MOP908 million, down by 15.5% year-on-year. Value of re-exports (MOP786 million) decreased by 15.7%, with that of Machines, apparatus & parts falling by 48.6%. Value of domestic exports (MOP122 million) dropped by 14.5%, with that of Copper & articles thereof decreasing by 31.9%. Total merchandise import rose by 3.5% year-on-year to MOP7.26 billion, of which imports of Beauty, cosmetic & skin-care products, Watches and Food & beverages expanded by 29.3%, 17.7% and 9.2% respectively; meanwhile, imports of Mobile phones, Construction materials and Motor cars & motorcycles declined by 51.9%, 16.2% and 12.9% respectively. Merchandise trade deficit in May totalled MOP6.35 billion.

Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for May 2019
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitors on package tours increased by 16.4% year-on-year to 827,000 in May 2019. Package tour visitors from mainland China (639,000), the Republic of Korea (58,000) and Taiwan (59,000) rose by 17.5%, 26.8% and 6.1% respectively, whereas those from Hong Kong (16,000) surged by 53.5%. In the first five months of 2019, there were 4,122,000 package tour visitors, a growth of 14.7% year-on-year.

DSI extends service scope of online application status enquiry
The Identification Services Bureau (DSI) extends online application status enquiry service to various certificates starting from 28th June 2019, following the introduction of online application status enquiry for the resident identity card, travel documents and the Certificate of Criminal Record in 2018.
