The “2^nd Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is going to present residents and tourists a series of highlight activities. Among which, “A Cherished Memory from 1999 ― Archives Exhibition in Celebration of the 20^th Anniversary of the Return of Macao to the Motherland”, organized by the Archives of Macao, will be inaugurated on 28 June (Friday), at 6pm, at the Archives of Macao. The exhibition is held until 27 December and admission is free. In conjunction with the exhibition, a thematic lecture will be held on 29 June (Saturday), at 3pm, at the Archives of Macao. All are welcome.

The CCAC received complaints from some civil associations last year, where the latter expressed their doubts about the process of title obtaining, delineation and area calculation concerning the land parcel at Colina da Ilha Verde (literally known as green island hill). They therefore requested an investigation by the CCAC. The Commissioner Against Corruption, according to Law no. 10/2000 (Organic Law of the Commission Against Corruption), mandated an investigation into the matter through an order. After the investigation, the CCAC believed that there were not adequate signs or evidence to challenge the title established by the relevant property registration as well as the delineation and area of the parcel determined on the relevant cadastral map. When it comes to conservation and planning of the parcel at Colina da Ilha Verde, the government departments responsible failed to strictly adhere to relevant provisions of the Urban Planning Law and the Cultural Heritage Protection Law.

The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will start its 2019-20 Concert Season on 31 August. On the occasion of the 250^th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig Van Beethoven, the Macao Orchestra takes the theme of Concert Season around “Love・Beethoven” and offers “Love・Beethoven” ticket discount packages. World-class musicians were invited to present Beethoven’s complete set of the virtuoso composer’s symphonies so as to convey his positive attitude towards life through music and to allow the audience to experience the charm of the composer’s masterworks. To further enhance young audience’s appreciation abilities, the Orchestra will hold a series of “Fun Music” concerts and a variety of music activities. Tickets for the new Concert Season will be on sale from 30 June onwards at the Macau Ticketing Network, and an early bird 40% discount will be available, subject to certain criteria, between 30 June and 17 August.

The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the second-half of June on 24 June for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 13 supermarkets in São Lázaro, São Lourenço and Sé Parishes. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.

In a bid to mark the 20^th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the Government Information Bureau has launched the call for photo submissions of “Our 20 Years” – a special event hosted by the photo submissions portal “Macao Photo Book” (http://photo.gcs.gov.mo). The deadline for photo submissions has been extended to 31 July 2019 to attract more participation.
