Electoral Affairs Commission prepared for Sunday polling

Arrangements for tomorrow’s (Sunday’s) polling to select members of the Chief Executive Election Committee were in place, noted the Electoral Affairs Commission for the Chief Executive Election.



“Reminiscences of the Silk Road – Exhibition of Cultural Relics of the Western Xia Dynasty” inaugurated at the Macao Museum

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Macao’s handover to China, the Macao Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, and the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Museum, jointly organize the special exhibition “Reminiscences of the Silk Road - Exhibition of Cultural Relics of the Western Xia Dynasty”. The opening ceremony was held on 14 June, at 6:30pm, at the Macao Museum and was officiated by the Assistant of the Deputy Director of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao S.A.R., Shao Bin; the Vice President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Leong Wai Man; the Director of the Protection Centre for Cultural Relics of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China, Ma Jianjun; the Member of the Cultural Consultative Committee, Siu Pei Tak; and the Vice Chairman of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Museum of the People’s Republic of China, Liang Yingqin. This exhibition, part of the series of the “Art Macao” event, is held until 6 October, and is open to the general public.


UM scholar publishes new book on English education and policy

Barry Lee Reynolds, an assistant professor of English education from the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Education, recently published a new book titled ‘English Literacy Instruction for Chinese Speakers’, via Palgrave Macmillan. Co-edited with Teng Feng from Hong Kong Baptist University, this book is a valuable teaching material for Chinese learners who want to develop English literacy.


Voters reminded not to reveal voting intention at Sunday’s polling

Voters taking part in Sunday’s polling to choose members of the Chief Executive Election Committee are not allowed by law to reveal their polling preference. After voting, they cannot reveal their preference to others either at the polling station or within 100 metres of it.

To celebrate the Rehabilitation International Asia and Pacific Regional Conference 2019, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Venetian Macao Convention & Exhibition Centre, the Venetian Ballroom, from 9:00 to 18:00 on 26th June 2019 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “Rehabilitation International Asia and Pacific Regional Conference 2019”.
