Director of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR Fu Ziying visits Macao Polytechnic Institute

On the afternoon of May 23, Fu Ziying, the Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR (LOCPG) visited the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) and Im Sio Kei, President of MPI gave a warm welcome to the delegation on the afternoon of May 23. Fu Ziying listened to the teaching and research development of MPI, and held a meeting with the management team of MPI. Fu Ziying mentioned that MPI has distinctive characteristics, is continuously innovating in development, and actively integrating into the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the overall development of the country. The LOCPG will continue to support the high-level education and scientific research of MPI. Xue Xiaofeng, the Deputy Director of LOCPG also attended the visit and the meeting.




Consumer Council released 7th supermarket price survey report of the current month

The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the second-half of May on 27 May for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 10 supermarkets in Santo António Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.


Further agreements bolster Guangdong-Macao cooperation

The latest Guangdong-Macao Cooperation Joint Conference has endorsed a total of nine agreements covering the next phase of collaboration between the two places, and their efforts to press ahead with goals envisaged under the outline development plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area).


IIICF to Be Held from This Thursday to Friday Enhancing Sustainable Development of International Infrastructure for 10 Consecutive Years

The 10th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) will be held at the Venetian Macao from May 30 to 31. At this edition of IIICF, the Principal Steering Unit of the Steering Committee of IIICF are the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of China and the Macao Special Administrative Region Government; the Special Steering Unit is the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; the Member Units are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council. The event is collaboratively organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the China International Contractors Association. The IIICF Organisers held a press conference today (27 May), where IPIM’s Executive Director Sam Lei and the Vice President of the China International Contractors Association Yu Xiaohong introduced the preparation works for the IIICF.


UM, Chinese Academy of Sciences establish joint lab on AI and robotics

The University of Macau (UM) today (27 May) held an inauguration ceremony for the Joint Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics between UM and the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), which was followed by a joint forum. The lab aims to provide a platform for collaborative research in artificial intelligence and robotics and is expected to enhance the research capacity of both sides.



IFT Announces 4th Annual Tourism Education Student Summit-2019 hosted by Galaxy Entertainment Group

On May 29, 2019 at the JW Marriott Hotel Macau - the Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) together with its 2019 event co-sponsor, Galaxy Entertainment Group hosts this year’s Tourism Education Student Summit – 2019 event (TEd Summit-2019). Registration for the full day event opens at 09:00 in the foyer of Ballroom 3 and is free of charge. The TEd Summit – 2019 is an opportunity for the top tier of the Institute’s undergraduate student researchers to share their research findings with the tourism and hospitality industry and the community at large.
