UM awards scholarships to outstanding postgraduates

The University of Macau (UM) today (1 December) held the Ceremony for the Conferment of Honorary and Higher Degrees 2018. At the ceremony, UM awarded scholarships and academic prizes to 38 outstanding postgraduates. This year, UM awarded more than 60 scholarships and academic prizes worth MOP 4 million to over 400 students.

The University of Macau (UM) today (1 December) held the Ceremony for the Conferment of Honorary and Higher Degrees 2018. This year, more than 800 students from PhD degree programmes, master’s degree programmes, and postgraduate diploma/certificate programmes received graduation certificates. At the ceremony, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Tam Chon Weng, acting as the representative of the Macao SAR Chief Executive and UM Chancellor Chui Sai On, said that the Macao SAR government will continue to support the university’s development. He encouraged the graduates to play an active part in the development of the Greater Bay Area and create their own success stories.





Art Promotion Mini Parade is held at the Ruins of St. Paul’s on 1 and 2 December

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the “2018 Macao International Parade”, celebrating the 19th Anniversary of Macao’s Handover to China, will be held on 16 December. The Organizer holds an “Art Promotion Mini Parade” on 1 and 2 December, at the Ruins of St. Paul’s, attracting many residents and tourists to feel the carnival atmosphere.
