International banking statistics – March 2019

According to the statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, the proportion of international business in the local banking sector rebounded in the first quarter of 2019. At end-March 2019, the share of international assets in total banking assets increased to 86.1% from 85.2% at end-December 2018, while the share of international liabilities in total banking liabilities rose to 82.0% from 81.1%.


Enforcement statistics show Macao is safe city, says Security Secretary

Police statistics relating to law enforcement for the first quarter of 2019 showed Macao to be a secure and safe city, said today the Secretary for Security, Mr Wong Sio Chak.





Applications for the Cultural Affairs Bureau “Academic Research Grants” open until 31 May

The application deadline for the “Academic Research Grants”, launched by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), is 31 May 2019. Eligible academics may now submit their applications. Late applications will not be considered.


The Macao Creative Pavilion at the 15th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair was inaugurated promoting distinctive gastronomy

The 15th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) was inaugurated on 16 May at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and the Cultural Industries Fund jointly set up the Macao Creative Pavilion at the fair, aiming to promote Macao’s distinctive shops and sharing stories of local culinary brands.
