Consumer Council released 3rd supermarket price survey report of the current month
The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the first-half of May on 9 May for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 7 supermarkets in Taipa and Coloane Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.

Universities in Greater Bay Area to discuss collaboration opportunities in Beijing
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of the handover of Macao to China, the University of Macau (UM), Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on Sunday 12 May will hold a forum on the opportunities and challenges facing universities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in teaching and research collaboration. The forum will be open to the public. All are welcome.

Residential property price index for January – March 2019
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for January - March 2019 increased by 0.2% over the previous period (December 2018-February 2019) to 263.4. The index for the Macao Peninsula (265.3) was similar to the previous period, whereas that for Taipa & Coloane (255.4) rose by 1.2%.

Credit card statistics –1st quarter 2019
According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, the total number of personal credit cards issued by banks in Macao continued to rise in the first quarter of 2019. Both the credit card turnover and total repayments witnessed growth from a year ago.

351 people in running for places on Chief Executive Election Committee
An aggregate of 351 people has signed up for the right to contest available places on the Chief Executive Election Committee. The figure was confirmed after applications for candidature regarding the June polling closed at 6pm today.
