Consumer Council received 37 cases between 1-5 May

Consumer Council received a total number of 37 complaint cases and 13 enquiries during the 5-day Labour Day Holiday.



List of entrants for the second review of IC’s “2018 Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Song Albums” announced

The initial review of the “2018 Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Song Albums”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), has been recently completed. The adjudicating panel selected 15 entrants for the second review. Each beneficiary will be granted a subsidy of up to a maximum amount of MOP150,000 to cover the production expenses of the original song albums and relevant items. Besides, each beneficiary will receive advice from veteran music professionals regarding the musical production of the selected album.


Macao, Portugal reach consensus on judicial cooperation

Macao and Portugal are to initiate respective internal procedures necessary for signing an official agreement of mutual judicial cooperation on criminal matters.


Consumer Council released 1st supermarket price survey report of the current month

The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the first-half of May on 6 May for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 14 supermarkets in Nossa Senhora de Fátima Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.




Workshop proposed by UM scholar receives grant from Harvard-Yenching Institute

An international workshop titled ‘The (Un)Making of China: A Frontier Approach’, jointly proposed by Associate Professor Yang Bin from the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Macau (UM), and Dr Sittithep Eaksittipong from the Department of History at Chiang Mai University, received a grant from the Harvard-Yenching Institute.

The proposed workshop aims to discuss the conceptualisation of ‘China’ from the perspective of frontier. An interdisciplinary approach will be adopted to analyse the transformation of China over the course of more than 2,000 years.


ARTmusing Summer Workshops 2019 Sizzling creativity for everyone

The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents the ARTmusing Summer workshops, a series of activities conceived for all tastes and ages, from babies and children to parents and youth, without forgetting the seniors. The coming edition is hosted by experienced artists coming from Spain and Hong Kong who will be joined by Macao professionals. Challenging creative minds, the series stimulates participants’ interests in the performing arts throughout the holiday season.
