Government Headquarters open to public on 27 and 28 October

The Government Headquarters Open Day sessions will this year be held during the weekend of 27 to 28 October. The sessions will feature a series of performances and a flower displays themed "The Wizard of Oz".


Consumer Council released latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ Surveyed spots included supermarkets in N. Sra. de Fátima Parish

Consumer Council conducted its third ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 11 October for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 13 supermarkets in Toi San, Ilha Verde and Fai Chi Kei areas in N. Sra. de Fátima Parish.


Third Meeting of the Development Committee for the Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries

The third plenary meeting of the Committee for Development of the Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries was held today (11th). The meeting was chaired by Mr Chui Sai On, Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region cum Chairman of the Committee. Mr Chui recognised that the synergy and coordination among the departments had been strengthened while the development of the Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries was jointly promoted in an orderly manner, thanks to the establishment of the Committee, which enabled the Macao SAR government to actively carry out its work under the relevant working mechanism.




UM launches new admission schemes with exam exemption for Portuguese language professionals and top student athletes

The University of Macau (UM) recently held the Principals’ Recommended Admission Talk 2019/2020. This year’s Principals’ Recommended Scheme will include two new schemes with exam exemption, namely the Chinese and Portuguese Bilingual Talent Nurturing Scheme, and the Outstanding Student-Athletes Admission Scheme. The university will also launch a new programme, namely Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (Statistics and Data Science).


CE reviews management effort regarding Macao’s waters

21st Lusofonia Festival takes place next week and offers a diversified programme that introduces the lusophone culture

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and co-organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, the 21st Lusofonia Festival will be held from 19 to 21 October, at the Taipa Houses, introducing to the public the lusophone culture. The Festival offers a diversified programme of activities, including music and dance performances, booths, gastronomy and games, allowing residents and tourists to experience the Portuguese customs and feel the Festival’s cheerful atmosphere.


32nd MIMF presents Cantonese Rhyme along the Silk Road telling the story of a sailing voyage

The 32nd Macao International Music Festival (MIMF), organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), will present the large-scale symphonic suite Cantonese Rhyme along the Silk Road on 14 October (Sunday), at 8pm, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium, taking the audience on a journey through the magnificent Maritime Silk Road. Interested music aficionados are advised to take the opportunity to purchase tickets.
