National security education exhibition starts on 15 April

From 15 April to 15 May, the Macao SAR Government is holding – in cooperation with the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region – a National Security Education Exhibition. This year’s edition – the second such event in Macao – will be in the exhibition hall on the second floor of the Handover Gifts Museum of Macao. It will enable all members of the community better to understand the importance of national security.

Published by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and produced by Like Entertainment & Production Co. Ltd., the thirty-second issue of C2 Magazine will be released tomorrow (3 April).




April is a Contribution Month and FSS Reminds Residents to Pay Contributions on Time

April is a contribution month of the Social Security Fund. Employers are required to pay in this month the contributions of the obligatory system for their local long-term employees for the first quarter of 2019. If they have hired a non-resident worker, they are also required to pay the employment fee as well. In addition, beneficiaries of the arbitrary system are also required to pay contributions in April. To save time waiting in line, the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) calls for members of the public to make full use of the electronic payment options. Businesses, or residents of the Islands District can also go to the new Centro de Serviços da RAEM das Ilhas (Área de Segurança Social) to make their payments.


Transport and communications statistics for February 2019

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that, as at end-February 2019, total number of licensed motor vehicles was 239,345, down slightly by 0.4% year-on-year; light motorcycles (25,647) dropped by 10.3% whereas light automobiles (108,262) and heavy motorcycles (97,894) rose by 1.0% and 1.2% respectively. New registration of motor vehicles in February declined by 36.9% year-on-year to 726, with heavy motorcycles (410) and light automobiles (282) falling by 31.9% and 40.6% respectively. In the first two months of 2019, new registration of motor vehicles decreased by 31.6% year-on-year to 1,954. Number of traffic accidents increased by 3.6% year-on-year to 1,153, and number of injuries totalled 410. A total of 709 traffic casualties were recorded in the first two months, and 1 of them was killed.


Edutainment: Promote Environmental Protection through the Green Public Day

The “Green Public Day” of “2019 Macao International Development Co-operation Forum and Exhibition” (2019MIECF) was held today free with admission. There was a series of educational activities on spot for the public to share the fun. The citizens who visited the exhibition said that they could learn about the environmental protection trends and developments of different countries and regions, as well as some of the latest information and technologies, which would enhance public awareness of environmental protection. The event organizer also arranged a guided tour for students, and a specially-assigned person introduced the various environmentally-friendly products and technologies in the exhibition area to the students.


2019MIECF Continues to Offer Official Guided Tour and Government Procurement Matching Sessions for Greater Green Results

To assist government departments in their efforts to catch up with the latest eco technologies, products, and information on environmental protection and improve their sense of environmental protection, the “Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (MIECF) has arranged the “Official Guided Tour” and the “Government Procurement Matching Session” in recent years, promoting green co-operation and exchanges between the government and the industry. During the 2019MIECF, the Guided Tour was provided for representatives from over 30 government departments. The Government Procurement Matching Session was also held later in the afternoon.


MIECF Optimizes Exhibition Elements to Assist Enterprises in Exploring Green Business Opportunities in Line with National Policies and International Development Trends

In line with the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” released earlier by the Central Government and by virtue of the role of Macao as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as the global commitment to developing a green and sustainable world economy, a “Greenovation Zone” was launched this year, and the area of the “Greater Bay Area Eco-products and Solutions Pavilion” expanded at the “2019 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (2019MIECF), with the aim of helping participants to seize new opportunities for green development and encouraging them to follow relevant barometers. Some exhibitors acknowledged that the 2019MIECF lived up to their expectation, saying that they made the acquaintance of investors from the mainland thanks to a series of activities offered by the 2019MIECF.
