Consumer Report issue 306 published Analysis on 2018 supermarket price shows 2% increase

An analysis on 2018 supermarket price is featured in the latest issue no. 306 Consumer Report, an increase of 1.8 percent year-on-year was recorded in the average prices of the 350 products surveyed by the Consumer Council. The highest percentage increase was recorded in the average retail price of rice while the lowest was found in fresh produce with a decrease of 7 percent.


Consumer Council released latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ Various functions available on website and app

Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 21 February for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 14 supermarkets in São Lázaro and São Lourenço Parishes. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo) or the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app.

IPIM Holds “MICE Bidding Strategy Workshop” to Enhance Local MICE Professionalism

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) will hold the “MICE Bidding Strategy Workshop” in the Multi-functional Hall on the 19th floor of China Civil Plaza at 10 am on 27 February. Mr. Mike Williams, IPIM’s consultant in convention and exhibition area, will be the keynote speaker of the training workshop. The training will feature strategies of bidding convention and sharing sessions by local MICE practitioners who have successfully bid international conventions to be held in Macao.

IFT organised Nikkei Cuisine Workshop Celebrity Chef Mitsuharu Tsumura embraces gastronomical diversity and creativity

IFT organised Nikkei Cuisine Workshop by Mitsuharu Tsumura, the consultant chef of Aji at MGM COTAI. Chef Tsumura was invited all the way from Peru to IFT to showcase his superb culinary skills, and also to introduce the concept of Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei cuisine and its culinary techniques with IFT Culinary Arts Management Degree Programme students. The workshop aims to nurture local culinary talents for Macau, inspiring their creativity and enhancing their skills, with the aim to solidify Macau’s designation as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.


UM study shows n-3 PUFA-rich fish and nuts can help prevent fatty liver

A study conducted by researchers from the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS), University of Macau (UM), shows that an increased consumption of fish and nuts rich in n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (n-3 PUFA), leading to the nutritional balance of n-6/n-3 PUFA, can help to prevent fatty liver induced by alcohol consumption. The research findings have been published in Biochimica et Biophysica Acta - Molecular Basis of Disease, Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, and Biochemical Pharmacology.


MGTO promotes Macao at Guangzhou International Travel Fair
