Renewed schedule of Fireworks Contest in Macao – Fireworks on 21 and 25 September

The third night of fireworks displays (by French and Portuguese teams) originally scheduled for last Saturday (15 September) by the 29th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest, as well as the Fireworks Carnival on the same night, are now rescheduled to be held this coming Friday (21 September).


CE: Preparation work for Typhoon Mangkhut proves effective

The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, said today that Macao‘s civil protection response to Typhoon Mangkhut achieved the expected results, helping to minimise the negative impact of the storm in the community.





Distribution work of Wealth Partaking Scheme 2018 finished

The distribution work of 2018 Wealth Partaking Scheme finished on 14 September this year. In the course of implementation, 332,759 beneficiaries had received the cash premium by means of bank transfer, accounting for MOP$ 2,923,921,800, while 374,322 crossed cheques had been mailed, which summed up to MOP$ 3,254,497,200. Until the present time, 251,963 cheques were honoured, representing 67.3% of the total number of cheques issused.


Results of survey on participation of residents in cultural activities

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released results of Survey on Participation of Residents in Cultural Activities for the second quarter of 2018. This Survey aims to collect information on participation of individuals aged 16 and above in cultural activities in the six months prior to the date of interview. Cultural activities include going to the cinema, going to a library, visiting a museum or World Heritage site, and attending a performance or art exhibition.


Consumer Council and DSE patrol over 630 shops Supply and prices of daily necessities remain stable

After Typhoon Manghkut leaves, the Consumer Council and Economic Bureau (DSE) sent out staff to patrol over 630 shops on 17 september, including supermarkets, convenience stores, drugstores and other retail outlets. During patrol, shops kept on restocking food items, bottled water, household sanitation items, etc., the supply and prices of all items remain stable.


Preparation work crucial to reduce Typhoon Mangkhut’s impact

The civil protection efforts in preparing for the passage of Typhoon Mangkhut were essential in order to reduce the negative impact of the storm in the community, as intended by the Government, said today the Secretary for Security, Mr Wong Sio Chak.
