2019 HUSH!! Full Music Beach Concert Open call for proposals from local bands and musicians

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the “2019 HUSH!! Full Music” Beach Concert will be held from 28 April to 1 May at Hac Sa Beach, Hac-Sa Nautical Centre and various locations in the Island District. This year’s Beach Concert will continue to invite a number of famous local and foreign bands to present different varieties of music, creating a passionate large-scale music feast. In order to provide a stage platform and more opportunities for local music performers to perform with foreign bands, IC invites interested local bands and musicians to participate in the concert.


Spring Festival Golden Week approaching MGTO first harnesses big data to forecast visitor flows

With the seven-day Spring Festival Golden Week (4th – 10th February) arriving next week, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is gearing up for the festive period with a diversity of proactive measures, such as forecasting visitor flows by use of big data for the first time. Visitor flows will be monitored at tourist districts and congested locations for internal testing during the Spring Festival Golden Week, to ensure that accurate reference data can be delivered in the future after the official launch of the project to facilitate visitor flow diversion.

Consumer Council released latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ Various functions available on website and app

Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 30 January for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 10 supermarkets in Taipa and Coloane Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo) or the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app.


IPIM Rolls Out the Online Document Submission System

To work in line with the administrative concept that emphasizes administrative simplification that facilitates citizens, promotion of e-administration and talent recruitment, and to gradually optimise the inspection and approval procedures for temporary residency application at the same time, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) now launches the Online Document Submission System. This service aims at allowing applicants to fill out the temporary residency application form online and upload supporting documents before filing a formal temporary residency application.



CE outlines three Macao initiatives to advance Greater Bay Area development

Consumer Council and other departments started patrolling before Chinese New Year

The Consumer Council, Macao Customs, Economic Services, and the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) patrolled together at Tap Seac Chinese New Year Market earlier to distribute promotional leaflets and raise the awareness of vendors in abiding the laws for the order and safety of the market, as well as to safeguard the rights of consumers.


Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for December 2018

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitors on package tours totalled 917,000 in December 2018, up by 2.3% month-to-month and 1.6% year-on-year. Package tour visitors from the Republic of Korea (61,000) and Taiwan (62,000) surged by 39.0% and 23.4% respectively year-on-year, whereas those from Mainland China (733,000) decreased by 1.2%. For the whole year of 2018, visitors on package tours totalled 9,096,000, up by 5.5% year-on-year, with those from Mainland China (7,103,000), the Republic of Korea (616,000) and Taiwan (696,000) recording increases of 2.6%, 28.3% and 53.8% respectively.
