AACM approves 198 extra and charter flights to meet Chinese New Year’s demand
To allow airlines to increase their capacity to meet the demand for air transport for the 2019 Chinese Year Year, the Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR (AACM) has approved a total of 198 extra and charter flights to and from mainland China, Taiwan China, Vietnam, Thailand and Japan.

Consumer Council conducted its specific price survey on diapers, over-the-counter drugs, and milk powder on 29 January for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Results of the mentioned survey has been uploaded to the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), it is also available on the Council’s “Posto das Informações de Preços em Macau” iPhone and Android apps, as well as on the Council’s WeChat account page.

UM PhD student wins second prize at writing competition

Macao Orchestra presents romantic “Valentine’s Day Concert – Piano in Love”
The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents the “Valentine’s Day Concert - Piano in Love” on Saturday, 16 February, at 8pm, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium. Under the baton of the prominent Macao conductor Lio Kuokman, the Macao Orchestra will join hands with renowned Chinese pianist Chen Sa to present a repertoire specially selected for Valentine’s Day, celebrating this romantic day with music aficionados. Tickets are now available through the Macau Ticketing Network.

Employment survey for October-December 2018
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that both the general unemployment rate (1.7%) and the unemployment rate of local residents (2.4%) for October-December 2018 held steady compared with the previous period (September-November 2018). The underemployment rate was 0.4%, up by 0.1 percentage point.
