Submission of proposals by local arts groups for the 2018 Macao International Parade ends on Sunday

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 2018 Macao International Parade, in celebration of the 19th anniversary of Macao’s Handover to China, will be held on 16 December (Sunday) from 3pm to 7pm. IC is now inviting all local associations, schools, institutes and organisations registered at the Macao Identification Service Bureau to join the event by submitting performance proposals. The deadline for submission is 9 September (Sunday).


Trade Fair Industry in Asia Comments on the Positive Development of the MICE Industry in Macao

The Union des Foires Internationales (UFI) recently issued the "Trade Fair Industry in Asia–14thEdition", a document that profiles the development of the Asian MICE industry in 2017. Twenty-six B2B exhibitions that took place in Macao in 2017 were included in the UFI statistics. Reportedly, the exhibition industry recorded income of nearly US$54 million, and sales of net exhibition space increased by more than 50% compared to the figure from five years earlier.


UM professor appointed to overseas expert panel of Chinese Academy of Sciences

Mak Pui In, Associate Director (research) of the University of Macau (UM) State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI, who is also a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, recently attended an event for participants in the 100 Experts Programme and the 1,000 Experts Programme held in Beijing. During the event, he was appointed a member of the overseas expert panel of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).


Consumer Council conducted specific product price survey on refrigerated and frozen pork

For the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June, Consumer Council conducted its specific price survey on refrigerated and frozen pork on 3 September. Result of the mentioned survey has been uploaded to the Council’s website and its WeChat account page.


Exhibition “Beyond the Scenery: Exhibition Commemorating the 300th Anniversary of the Passing of Wu Li” opens on Friday (7 September)

Jointly organised by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Palace Museum, the Shanghai Museum, the Macao Foundation, the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Macao Daily News, with the support of the Hong Kong Museum of Art and Residência da Companhia de Jesus, the exhibition “Beyond the Scenery: Exhibition Commemorating the 300th Anniversary of the Passing of Wu Li” will be inaugurated on Friday, 7 September, at 6:30, on the 4th floor of MAM, and is open to the general public.


Starting Today, Seniors Aged between 65 and 74 can apply for Withdrawal of Funds from Individual Accounts of Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System

The second phase of fund withdrawal applications for this year’s special allocation of budget surplus for individual accounts of non-mandatory central provident fund system has commenced. Starting today, eligible seniors who are aged between 65 and 74 can apply to the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) for withdrawal of funds, and the money will be transferred on November 23 at the earliest for the approved applications.


Commemorative postmark cancellation service of “Celebration of Teachers' Day”

To celebrate the Teachers' Day 2018, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at our Philatelic Shop of General Post Office, from 10:30 to 17:30 on 10th September 2018 to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “Celebration of Teachers' Day”.
