Electoral Affairs Commission issues guideline on how to fill out ballot for June polling

The Electoral Affairs Commission for the Chief Executive Election has today issued its first guideline, regarding the method to fill out the ballot paper to be used in the poll to choose members of the Chief Executive Election Committee. The date for the Chief Executive Election Committee polling is 16 June.




UM co-organises the first Workshop on IC Advances in China

The first Workshop on IC Advances in China (ICAC Workshop), co-organised by the University of Macau’s (UM) State-Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI and the University of Electronic Science and Technology (UESTC), was held successfully in Chengdu recently. The workshop aimed to provide a platform for participants to have open technical discussions, to explore collaboration opportunities, and to brainstorm new ideas and directions. The workshop attracted 150 participants, including industry practitioners and leading Chinese scholars and engineers in the field of integrated circuits who have published papers in the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) or the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits (JSSC) in the past two years.


April is a Contribution Month and FSS Reminds Employers to Pay Contributions as Early as Possible

For the social security system, April is the contribution month for the first quarter of this year. The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) reminds that the flow of people at the service points is expected to increase nearing the end of the month. In order to avoid the peak flow at month end, employers should make their payments as early as possible, and those who have already applied for the electronic filing service should try to make use of the available electronic payment options for making their payments. As of 23 April 2019, a total of 13,753 employers have already paid obligatory system contributions for their employees, accounting for 64% of the total number of employers who need to pay contributions.


Tap Siac Craft Market kicks off Friday

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the Tap Siac Craft Market will be held at Tap Siac Square for two consecutive weekends from 26 to 28 April and from 3 to 5 May 2019. The opening ceremony will be held at 6pm on 26 April. All are welcome to show support for this local cultural event and enjoy the creative atmosphere.


Visitor arrivals for March 2019

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals totalled 3,388,931 in March 2019, up by 24.0% year-on-year but down by 4.4% month-to-month. Overnight visitors (1,583,480) rose by 9.1% year-on-year, while same-day visitors (1,805,451) soared by 40.8%. The average length of stay of visitors held steady year-on-year at 1.2 days, with that of overnight visitors and same-day visitors remaining unchanged at 2.2 days and 0.2 day respectively.


Consumer price index (CPI) for March 2019

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI (114.85) for March 2019 increased by 2.84% year-on-year, slightly higher than the growth in February (+2.79%) by 0.05 percentage points. The increment in March was attributable to dearer charges for eating out and higher rentals for dwellings, as well as rising prices of motor cars, gasoline, vegetables and fruits.


GGCT issues Level 2 Travel Alert for Sri Lanka
