The 51st Session of Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues held in Macao successfully

The 51st Session of Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR) was successfully held in Macao for 6 consecutive days. Consensus on various issues was reached with the active participation of all participating countries and organisations, and the desired objectives of the session were achieved. The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) participated in this year’s session as a member of the delegation of China to learn about the latest global trends in pesticide residue limits, which assists the establishment of food safety standards that meet international requirements in Macao. The standard of “Maximum Limits of Pesticide Residues in Food” will be issued this year to further strengthen the specifications of food safety standards in Macao.


Consumer Council released 5th supermarket price survey report of the current month

The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the second-half of April on 15 April for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 14 supermarkets in N. Sra. de Fátima Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.



Work on complementary legislation related to National Security Law in progress: Secretary

The Secretary for Security, Mr Wong Sio Chak, today said the Government was fully committed to advancing work on complementary laws and regulations for the further implementation of Macao’s National Security Law.

Open Call for the exhibition “Artworks of Macao Artists 2019”

With 2019 marking the 20th anniversary of Macao’s return to the motherland and also the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Museum of Art (MAM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, MAM and the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) especially co-organised the exhibition “Artworks of Macao Artists 2019”, aiming to review the creative achievements of Macao’s contemporary visual art, promote exchanges between art communities in Macao and Mainland China, and strengthen inheritance of tradition and innovation in the development of Macao’s visual art. MAM intends to select artworks by open submission and all interested artists may submit their works from 17 to 20 May 2019.
