AACM implements new aviation security requirements commencing this March

The Civil Aviation Authority (AACM) will implement new aviation security requirements through two new aeronautical circulars commencing 1 March 2019. Such requirements include the prohibition of transporting lighters on aircraft and transporting selfie stick, camera/video recorder tripod and monopod exceeding 30 cm after retraction in carry-on baggage, and so on.



Consumer Council released latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ Various functions available on website and app

Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 18 January for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included supermarkets near Horte e Costa, Avenida do Ouvidor Arriaga and Rua da Emenda areas in Santo António Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo) or the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app.


Macao devoting utmost effort to ushering Greater Bay Area development

The Government will spare no effort to implement initiatives explained in the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, following the blueprint’s official publication by the Central Government.


UM professor discovers letters that provide new evidence for studies of British India history

Joshua Ehrlich, an assistant professor from the University of Macau (UM) Department of History, recently discovered three historically important letters in a London archive. The letters provide new evidence that in 18th century British India, politics and scholarship were intertwined.


CE to attend HK seminar on Greater Bay Area development plan

The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, will lead a Government delegation to Hong Kong on Thursday (21 February), to attend a seminar on the outline development plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area).


International banking statistics – December 2018

According to the statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, the proportion of international business in the local banking sector fell in the fourth quarter of 2018. At end-December 2018, the share of international assets in total banking assets decreased to 85.3% from 86.0% at end-September 2018, whereas the share of international liabilities in total banking liabilities rose to 81.2% from 81.1%.
