The competition attracted 117 teams from 34 higher education institutions from around the world to participate. The Communication University of China won the first prize overall and Macao Polytechnic Institute won the first prize under the category of special awards for teams from higher education institutions in Macao. Professor Huang Youyi, Executive Vice President of the Translators Association of China appreciated that this competition is the only one of its kind in the entire world. It provides guidance and encouragement for Chinese-Portuguese translators. Since the exchanges between China and Portuguese speaking countries are increasingly frequent, Chinese-Portuguese translation is becoming all the more demanding than at any time in history. This gives the competition far reaching significance.
