Christmas card of Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau
Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue a Christmas card with the image of stained glass windows “The Coronation of the Virgin Mary in Heaven”, of the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady. This card will be available for sale at the General Post Office, all post offices and postal kiosks on 3rd December, 2018.

Commemorative postmark cancellation service of “19th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region”
To celebrate the 19th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at our Philatelic Shop of General Post Office, from 9:00 to 17:30 on 20th December 2018 to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “19th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region”.

Sin Fong Temple closes temporarily for renovation
The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) is carrying out renovation works on the roof and walls of the Sin Fong Temple. In order to ensure public safety, the Sin Fong Temple will be closed temporarily to the public from today, 23 November 2018 to 20 January 2019. IEEE’s 2019 fellow list released! UM professor Elvis Mak Pui In becomes first Macao native to be elected IEEE Fellow
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has released its 2019 fellow list. Prof Elvis Mak Pui In from the University of Macau (UM) has made the list, for his contributions to the fields of radio frequency and analog circuits. He is the first native of Macao to receive this prestigious honour.

Consumer Council released specific price survey results on diapers, OTC drugs, and milk powder
Consumer Council conducted its specific price survey on diapers, over-the-counter drugs, and milk powder on 23 November for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Results of the mentioned survey has been uploaded to the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), it is also available on the Council’s “Posto das Informações de Preços em Macau” iPhone and Android apps, as well as on the Council’s WeChat account page.

Results of retail sales survey for 3rd Quarter of 2018
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that value of retail sales for the third quarter of 2018 increased by 12.8% year-on-year to MOP18.19 billion and rose by 1.0% as compared with the revised figure (MOP18.00 billion) in the second quarter of 2018. Watches, Clocks & Jewellery accounted for 21.0% of the total value of retail sales, followed by Goods in Department Stores (16.3%), Adults’ Clothing (13.0%), Leather Goods (12.3%) and Goods in Supermarkets (6.6%).

Visitor arrivals for October 2018
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that in view of the National Day holiday and the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, visitor arrivals surged by 23.2% month-to-month to 3,154,291 in October 2018, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 9.2%. Overnight visitors (1,549,891) and same-day visitors (1,604,400) grew by 5.4% and 13.2% respectively year-on-year. The average length of stay of visitors held steady year-on-year at 1.2 days, with that of overnight visitors rising by 0.1 day to 2.3 days and that of same-day visitors staying at 0.2 day.
