Taipa Houses close temporarily to the public
In conjunction with the activities of 65th Macau Grand Prix, the Taipa Houses under the Cultural Affairs Bureau will be temporarily closed to the public from 12pm on Saturday, 17 November, until the end of the same day. The entire area of the Taipa Houses (including Avenida da Praia) will be closed to the public on the designated day and access will be restricted to authorities and authorized vehicles.

Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – October 2018
The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP158.4 billion (USD19.61 billion) at the end of October 2018. The reserves increased by 2.3% from the revised value of MOP154.8 billion (USD19.20 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-October 2018 represented 10 times the currency in circulation or 81.6% of pataca M2 at end-September 2018.

Open Call Proposal for “hush! x Creative Industries” from today
Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), “HUSH!! Full Music” Beach Concert will be held from 28 April to 1 May 2019. “HUSH!! Full Music”, known for its distinctive brand image, has a history of over 10 years and is an important annual event dedicated to pop music in Macao. The Organizer has successfully registered the “hush!” trademark last year. In order to consolidate the “hush!” music brand and actively promote the development of the local cultural and creative industries, IC launches an open call for proposals for “hush! x Creative Industries”. The application deadline is 11 January 2019. Interested cultural and creative entities are welcome to submit their proposals.

Macao and Kaiping host “World Cultural Heritage Carnival of the Greater Bay Area” strengthening bilateral cultural cooperation and exchange
Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the Cultural Heritage Bureau and the Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication Bureau of Kaiping City, co-organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Kaiping Natives Association of Macao, the “World Cultural Heritage Carnival of the Greater Bay Area – Historic Centre of Macao and the Kaiping Diaolou and Villages”, will be held on 24 and 25 November (Saturday and Sunday), at Taipa Houses. The Carnival features a rich variety of programmes, including a number of distinctive game booths, a showcase of intangible cultural heritage embodied in traditional crafts and cultural and creative products, as well as extraordinary performances. Admission is free. Residents and tourists are welcome to participate.
