Seminar on “Multilingual and Bilingual Legislation: Perspectives from the European Union and Experience from Wales (Uk)”
As part of the 3rd Macao Special Administrative Region-EU Co-operation Programme in the Legal Field, the Legal and Judicial Training Centre is going to hold a seminar on “Multilingual and Bilingual Legislation: Perspectives from the European Union and Experience from Wales (UK)”, with the aim of enhancing the knowledge of our legal professionals in the multilingual and bilingual legislative drafting work of the European Union and of Wales. This event is going to take place starting on November 12, Monday, at 6:30 p.m. at the Auditorium of the Civil Service Training Centre located on the 7th floor of the Cheng Feng Commercial Centre on Alameda Dr. Carlos D’ Assumpção.

UM, Ciência Viva explore opportunities for collaboration in STEM education
The International Workshop on Research Innovation and STEM Education for the Next Generation, an event organised by the Centre for Science and Engineering Promotion under the University of Macau’s (UM) Macao Base for Primary & Secondary STEM Education, attracted many overseas experts and scholars. Dr Rosalia Vargas, president of Ciência Viva, and representatives of UM discussed possibilities for collaboration on various STEM activities, the launch of international exchange activities in science and technology, and the establishment of a science promotion platform for Portuguese-speaking countries.

Residential property price index for July – September 2018
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for July - September 2018 increased by 0.2% over the previous period (June - August 2018) to 270.4. The index for the Macao Peninsula (272.9) rose by 0.3% while that for Taipa & Coloane (259.0) dropped by 0.1%.

“2018 Hong Kong-Macao Visual Art Biennale” held in Hangzhou
Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao S.A.R. Government and the Home Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong S.A.R. Government, in cooperation with the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. Government, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong S.A.R. Government, the Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture, and presented by the China Arts and Entertainment Group and the China International Exhibition Agency, the “2018 Hong Kong-Macao Visual Art Biennale” was presented in Beijing and Dunhuang. From 30 October to 11 November, the exhibition has its final stop in the Zhejiang Art Museum in Hangzhou. Representatives of the Cultural Affairs Bureau attended the opening ceremony.

Macao film Love is Cold screened at the “Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival”
The “27th Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival” is held from 7 to 10 November in Foshan, Guangdong. The film Love is Cold, directed by Macao young director Fei Ho, was screened at the “Hong Kong and Macao Film Showcase” session, presenting Macao’s current film culture and development, and was well-received by the audience.
