IC organizes a delegation to participate in the 11th Cross-strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) of the Macao SAR Government, in collaboration with the Association of Advertising Agents of Macau, organized a delegation of 15 Macao cultural and creative entities to participate in the 11th Cross-strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair (hereunder referred to as “CCCIF”) on 2nd November, at Xiamen, Fujian province. The Macao Creative Pavilion has been set up for showcasing Macao’s cultural and creative products and services, in a bid to expand the promotion channels for Macao’s cultural and creative industries, and promote the growth in regional cooperation between Fujian and Macao in the cultural and creative fields. The event is one of the major projects of Fujian-Macao cooperation in 2018.






UNWTO Secretary-General visits IFT and meets with Institute’s management team

The Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, visited the Mong-Há Campus of the Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) on 23 October. Mr. Pololikashvili also met with the management of IFT. The 2 sides discussed potential opportunities for further cooperation, including at postgraduate education level.


Company statistics for the 3rd quarter of 2018

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 1,420 new companies were incorporated in the third quarter of 2018, an increase of 170 year-on-year. Total value of registered capital rose by 118.7% to MOP254 million, attributable to the incorporation of new companies with large capital in Financial Services and the Transport sector. Analysed by industry, there were 485 newly incorporated companies operating in Wholesale & Retail, 309 in Business Services and 199 in Construction. Meanwhile, companies in dissolution totalled 172 in the third quarter, and the value of registered capital of companies in dissolution amounted to MOP59 million.


Monetary and financial statistics – September 2018

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, broad money supply continued to grow in September with a stable share of patacas. Meanwhile, both resident deposits and loans increased from a month earlier.


Renowned philosopher Professor Chen Lai was invited to host the lecture “The System of Values and World Vision of Chinese Culture – The Globalization Perspective” in Macao

In order to enrich residents’ cultural life and to broaden their cultural horizons, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) organizes the “Lectures by Masters of Culture” programme. This year’s lecture “The System of Values and World Vision of Chinese Culture – The Globalization Perspective” was held on Sunday, 4 November, at 3pm, at the Auditorium of the Macao Polytechnic Institute, hosted by renowned philosopher Chen Lai, attracting a large number of residents to attend.


President of Instituto Português do Oriente (IPOR) Dr. Joaquim Ramos visits MPI to foster collaboration and exchange

Dr. Joaquim Ramos, President of Instituto Português do Oriente (IPOR) visited the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) on 30 October and was warmly welcomed by Professor Im Sio Kei, President of MPI. Dr. Ramos visited the Chinese-Portuguese-English Machine Translation Laboratory and learned about the teaching and research development of MPI and its contribution to the Language Services Industry in Macao. Later, a cordial and fruitful discussion was held in which both parties exchanged ideas on various aspects of their cooperation.
