Subscription for the Year of the Pig commemorative coins and exquisite collection box starting next Monday

The Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) will be launching the Year of the Pig commemorative coins in 2019. To facilitate the public and to ensure the orderly conduct of the subscription process, AMCM will accept online registration for subscription of coins from eligible subscribers, who are holders of either permanent or non-permanent valid Macao resident identity card and are aged 18 or above, via the webpage of the Monetary Authority of Macao (www.amcm.gov.mo) from 9:00am on 9 July until 6:00pm on 20 July 2018. Simultaneously, a service counter will be set up at the lobby of AMCM within the mentioned time period to provide online registration service for those elderly citizens who require assistance.






Journal edited by UM professor ranked top by authoritative international rankings

The Asian Journal of Criminology (AJOC), whose editor-in-chief is Prof Liu Jianhong from the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Macau (UM), has been ranked as a Quarter 1 journal in the latest Scientific Journal Rankings (SJR) report. Only magazines with the most academic influence and the highest number of citations are ranked as Q1 journals.



UM recommended to receive ten prizes at Macao Science and Technology Awards

The list of the recipients of the 2018 Macao Science and Technology Awards has been released. The University of Macau (UM) has been recommended to receive ten prizes out of the 16 prizes in the Natural Science Award category, Technological Invention Award category, and Science and Technology Progress Award category. The university is expected to win the most prizes among all institutions in Macao at this year’s award.



GGCT issues Level 1 Travel Alert for Bali

Given the recent volcano eruption in Mount Agung, Bali, Indonesia, the Tourism Crisis Management Office (GGCT) has issued a Level 1 Travel Alert to that destination. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China has also issued a security alert to the same destination. Following is the translated version of the full text:
