Outstanding UM students go on exchange trip to Dalian

The University of Macau (UM) Student Affairs Office recently organised an exchange trip for outstanding students, in response to the ‘Youth Exchange Programme in the Mainland’ launched by the Macao SAR government. The trip provided an opportunity for young adults in Macao to acquire an in-depth, comprehensive, and accurate understanding of China. It aimed to enhance the participants’ sense of belonging to China, strengthen their national identity, and increase exchange and collaboration between young adults and universities in Macao and Dalian. This is the first time that a higher education institution in Macao has arranged for a large group of students to visit Dalian.


Conference Ambassador Zhu Lilan Hopes to Attract More Technology Conferences to Macao

Zhu Lilan, former Minister of Science and Technology cum Consultant to the Macao Science and Technology Commission, was recently appointed as the "Conference Ambassador" by the Secretary for Economy and Finance Leong Vai Tac. She believes that both the hardware and software are well equipped for conventions and exhibitions in Macao, which can provide excellent venues and services for holding all kinds of conferences. At the same time, Macao's overall environment is good, with sound social harmony, stability in public security and friendly culture. The completion and opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge will also contribute to the sustainable development of the MICE industry.







UM student wins Top Paper Award at ICA’s annual conference

Ou Chuyue, a PhD student from the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Macau (UM), received the Top Paper Award at the 68th Annual Conference of the International Communication Association (ICA), for her paper, titled ‘From Offline to Online: How Mainland Chinese Postgraduates in Macao Construct and Present Their Identities’.
