Bomb threat drill at Macau Heliport is deemed smooth

The Macau Heliport conducted a security drill early this morning to simulate the scenario of a bomb threat. The heliport immediately activated the emergency plan to handle the crisis. The suspected object was eventually defined not a genuine bomb.


UM, CAS’ Aerospace Information Research Institute establish joint lab of aerospace information

The University of Macau (UM) today (9 January) held an inauguration ceremony for the Joint Laboratory of Aerospace Information, jointly established by UM and the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The lab aims to integrate the resources of both institutions to carry out innovative research in satellite payload for remote sensing and the applications of aerospace information.

Consumer Council released latest supermarket price survey report of the current month

The Consumer Council released the first “Supermarket price survey report” of São Lázaro, São Lourenço and Sé Parishes in January. Surveyed data included prices, price differences and promotional offers of over 200 products from 13 supermarkets in those Parishes. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.


Macao in close touch with national authorities on newly-identified virus

The Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) is keeping in close contact with the national authorities responsible for health and disease control, on the latest developments – particularly quarantine methods and appropriate treatment – relating to the outbreak of pneumonia in Wuhan, Hubei Province.


Lou Kau Mansion will close early from 15 to 17 January

In conjunction with the programme Property Guide at Lou Kau Mansion, integrated in the 19th Macao City Fringe Festival, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Lou Kau Mansion will close at 5pm from 15 to 17 January. The second floor will be temporarily closed from 11 to 17 January.
