MIF Exhibitor Registration for Macao SME Pavilion Starts Today

“The 23rd Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (23rd MIF)”, organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and co-organised by 15 economic and commercial authorities and trade associations from Macao, Mainland China and Hong Kong, will be held from 18 to 20 October 2018 at The Venetian Macao. The exhibition application period for local enterprises is from now (11 June) until 22 June.


Enterprises Achieves Fruitful Results on International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum

The 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) was successfully concluded today (8 June). In addition to different forums, signing ceremony and business matching sessions, the 9th IIICF also set up exhibition area, nearly 60 booths, where 34 enterprises engaging in equipment manufacturing, design consultancy service, construction materials, engineering services and other related areas showcased their own specialties. Enterprises all acknowledged the result of participating in this forum, and some had even successfully seized the business opportunities to expand their businesses.


Multiple Events Organised at the International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum to Play the Pivot Role and Highlight Elements of Macao

Today, nine parallel sessions were held at the 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum, including the one on Development of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, wherein many of the guests shared their pioneering insight into the topics. These parallel sessions played a pivot role in promoting Macao’s participation in the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In addition, at this year's forum, business meetings and matching sessions for Macao and the Mainland’s enterprises were arranged. Some enterprises spoke highly of these meetings about being beneficial to connecting Macao and the Mainland’s enterprises and helping them to seize the opportunities arising from the Belt and Road infrastructure projects.


UM confers honorary degree on Nobel laureate Ada Yonath Yonath gives talk on resistance to antibiotics and origin of life

The University of Macau (UM) today (9 June) conferred the Doctor of Science honoris causa degree on Prof Ada Yonath, a Nobel laureate in chemistry, in recognition of her studies on the structure and function of ribosome as well as her outstanding contributions in the field of biomedical sciences. At the event, Prof Yonath gave a lecture titled ‘Next Generation Species Specific Eco Friendly Antibiotics and Thoughts about Origin of Life’, in which she shared her latest research findings with the audience.



The 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum Successfully Concludes with Satisfying Achievements

The 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum was successfully concluded today (8 June). At thistwo-day event, 14 special forums, symposiums, parallel forums and events, over160businessmeetings and matching sessions were held in two days, and 17 co-operation project agreements were signed, including3involving the collaboration between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, yieldingfruitful results.


International Financial Executive Dialogue Brings Inspiration to Push Forward Infrastructure Development

On the first day (7 June) of 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum, the "International Financial Executive Dialogue: Attracting More Social Capital to Invest in Infrastructure" was held and attracted representatives from the financial and infrastructure sectors and peripheral industry chains from all over the world to discuss hot topics, such as how to attract social capital investment to fill the huge funding gap in international infrastructure, as well as the collaborative construction of healthier social capital investment and financing mechanisms, so as to promote the development of infrastructure.


Nearly 300 Scholars gather at UM to share new technologies for treating cancer

The Fifth Macau Symposium on Biomedical Sciences, organised by the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), opened today (8 June) at UM. Nearly 300 experts, researchers and students in the field of biomedical sciences from at home and abroad attended the event. The theme of this year’s symposium is ‘Precision’. The talks covered a wide range of topics in biomedical sciences. Prof Ada Yonath, the 2009 Nobel laureate in chemistry, was one of the keynote speakers.
