IIICF Thematic Forum Focuses on Cultivating New Growth Driver, Helping Enterprises Seize Opportunities to Achieve Interconnection

With the theme New Growth Drivers for Better Infrastructure and Closer Connectivity. Two thematic forums were held on the first day (7 June) of the 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF). Ministers for infrastructure, management from financial institutions, international contractors and senior executives of professional organisations from Mainland China, the Belt and Road Initiative countries and Portuguese-speaking countries were invited to discuss how to make use of scientific and technological revolution to introduce new drivers of development in the new era abounding in new opportunities, to harness the opportunities arising from the Belt and Road Initiative and international infrastructure development, and join to hands with enterprises from all over the world to explore opportunities for common development.



‘Belt and Road’ paves new Macao-Equatorial Guinea ties

The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, said he expected Macao and Equatorial Guinea to retain ties and develop closer ones during the phased development of the “Belt and Road” initiative and of Macao’s “Centre and Platform” policies.


Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System Receives over 10,000 Applications so far and the FSS Continues to Promote Social Participation

The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) has received over 10,000 applications for participation in the non-mandatory central provident fund system as of June 8. To encourage more enterprises to participate in the joint provident fund scheme, the FSS has been actively meeting with employers of various industries for months, and a number of explanatory sessions were also held at the invitation of enterprises interested in learning more about the central provident fund system.



Residential property price index for February – April 2018

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for February - April 2018 decreased by 0.7% over the previous period (January - March 2018) to 251.5, mainly caused by a drop of 7.0% in the index for pre-sale residential units (251.1); meanwhile, the index for existing residential units (275.9) grew by 3.1%.

The grand opening of the 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) was staged at the Venetian Macao today (7 June). With the theme New Growth Drivers for Better Infrastructure and Closer Connectivity, the Forum gathered a number of political, commercial and academic figures from all over the world, especially the ones from countries along the Belt and Road, Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Portuguese-speaking countries and European countries, to discuss issues and development trends of international infrastructure, exchange information on the latest technologies and peripheral industries, and join hands to explore business opportunities.



First Edition of the “Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” opens in July Tickets for the Film Festival and Gala Performance are on sale

The first edition of the “Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will be held in July, featuring a series of highlighted activities. Tickets for two thematic activities “China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival” and “China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Gala Performance” will be available on Saturday, 9 June, and Sunday, 10June, respectively.


UM to hold 3 distinguished lectures on microelectronics next Tuesday

The 2018 Distinguished Lecture Series on Microelectronics, organised by the University of Macau (UM) State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI, will be held on Tuesday 12 June. Three world-renowned experts on microelectronics will give keynote speeches in which they will share with the audience state-of-the-art technologies and design techniques related to microelectronic circuits. All are welcome.
