Local Enterprises Praise the Good Results Achieved by The International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum

The 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) will take place in Macao on June 7 and 8. The past eight editions of the IIICF have facilitated the signing of a total of 54 co-operation agreements (contracts), part of which are already in implementation. Macao companies which have participated in the IIICF for several years consider IIICF an important platform for exploring business opportunities for its professionalism, good reputation and remarkable efficacy. Some enterprises express that their participation in the IIICF have helped them to upgrade and transform, and to better position themselves to articulate with global infrastructure development.



Regranting or new bidding on former Pearl Horizon plot not legally possible

The Government indicates that suggestions for either a regranting or new bidding process for the rights to the land plot formerly assigned to the Pearl Horizon project is not possible under the public interest provisions stipulated in the Land Law.


Macao SAR's “Aa3” Credit Ratings Reflect the Government's Strong Fiscal Position

Moody’s Investors Service, an international credit rating agency, disseminated the annual credit analysis of Macao SAR and the relevant press release today (5 June), which comments that Macao SAR’s long-term issuer ratings at “Aa3” with a “stable” rating outlook are underpinned by the Government’s fiscal surpluses and absence of debt.


Twenty-seventh issue of C2 Magazine reveals stories behind the operation of cultural and creative stores

Published by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and produced by Like Entertainment & Production Co. Ltd., the twenty-seventh issue of C2 Magazine will be launched on 6 June (Wednesday). Although the development of cultural and creative stores in Macao has not yet caught up with those in the neighbouring regions, there are many cultural and creative practitioners working diligently here. In the section “Feature”, the founders of A Porta Da Arte, M Dimensions and ROOFTOP MACAO are invited to share the experiences in operating the cultural and creative stores.

Consumer Council conducted its first ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 5 June for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included supermarkets near Areia Preta, Mong Há and Avenida de Venceslau de Morais in N. Sra. de Fátima Parish.


Social Security Fund Adds a New Service for Applying for Services Related to the Contributions of the Arbitrary System Using an ePass Account

The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) today launched a new electronic service of the arbitrary system. Residents can use their ePass accounts to apply online for enrollment in the arbitrary system, starting or suspending the payment of arbitrary system contributions and to download the contribution payment advice.


IFT entrepreneurship course students conduct new product development project for local enterprises

Students from the Institute for Tourism Studies undertaking the entrepreneurship course engaged in a consultancy project to serve Simon Kuong, a local entrepreneur who founded many businesses in the region. This year, the project focus was to help a product company called Pikka Pikka, offering a range of trendy and high-tech fabric products with over 1,000 points of sale in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. The company is looking for new opportunities for new product development and therefore students engaged in industry and market research to identify opportunities. Towards the end of the project, students prepared a research report leading to the proposition of new product development with marketing mix strategies.


MGTO promotes Macao as City of Gastronomy in Italy

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) attended the City of Gastronomy Festival in Parma from 2nd to 3rd June at the invitation of this Creative City of Gastronomy in Italy, seizing the opportunity to manifest Macao’s new status as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy and meet with representatives of Slow Food International to gain a deeper understanding of the international slow food culture. MGTO Deputy Director Cheng Wai Tong was on the mission.


Monetary and financial statistics – April 2018

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, broad money supply rebounded in April, with the share of patacas remained stable. Meanwhile, both resident deposits and loans increased from a month earlier.
