"Music in Campus" Concerts of the Macao Orchestra Present Folk Music to Students

The Macao Orchestra (OM), under the Cultural Affairs Bureau, visited Pui Ching Middle School, Ilha Verde Primary School and the St. Joseph Diocesan College No. 5 (English Section) to present a series of school concerts entitled "Music in Campus”, interpreting folk music from various countries to more than 1,500 teachers and students in primary schools and kindergartens to allow students to get closer to and develop an interest in music.

Organized by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, and co-organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Macao Foundation, the exhibition “Marc Chagall, Light and Colour in Southern France”, one of the highlights of the 29th Macao Arts Festival and 2018 Le French May, will be inaugurated on 31 May, featuring a selection of Marc Chagall’s works created from the 1950s to the 1970s.

Consumer Council conducted its second ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 11 May for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included supermarkets near Iao Hon Market and the Border Gate area (Portas do Cerco ) in N. Sra. de Fátima Parish.


2018 Macao International Museum Day Carnival to be held on Sunday

In response to this year’s International Museum Day, 17 museums in Macao co-organize a large-scale museum event, the “2018 Macao International Museum Day Carnival” themed “The Mobile Museum – Taipa Houses x Taipa Story” on Sunday, 13 May, from 2pm to 6pm, at the Taipa Houses. The inauguration ceremony of the “2018 Macao International Museum Day Carnival” will be held on Sunday, 13 May, at 3pm, at the Taipa Houses, and will be attended by representatives of in the Department of Culture of Guangdong Province, the Home Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong S.A.R. Government and its subsidiary museums.

In response to this year’s International Museum Day, 17 museums in Macao co-organize a large-scale museum event, the “2018 Macao International Museum Day Carnival” themed “The Mobile Museum – Taipa Houses x Taipa Story”. The event features a wide range of activities, including exhibitions, VR and AR experience studios, workshops, game booths, guided tours and a photography area which attracted residents into active participation. The inauguration ceremony of the “2018 Macao International Museum Day Carnival” was held on Sunday, 13 May, at 3pm, at the Taipa Houses. Excellent performances by the Music Group Macau, the Children’s Choir of the Macao Cultural Centre and the Macao Orchestra were also presented.



Mortgage loans statistics – March 2018

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) rose while those of commercial real estate loans (CRELs) decreased in March 2018. With regard to the outstanding balance, RMLs witnessed a slight monthly increase whereas CRELs remained virtually unchanged.


CE: Visit to Cambodia and Thailand very productive

The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, today said the visit to Cambodia and Thailand by a SAR Government delegation had been productive and fruitful, particularly in terms of extending Macao’s contribution to the “Belt and Road” initiative.
