Cultural Affairs Bureau extends two exhibitions to cheer up the public up with the power of art amid the pandemic

The Tap Seac Gallery and the Exhibitions Gallery and the Nostalgic House of the Taipa Houses, under the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym) have reopened to the public. In order to “fight the pandemic with culture” and give the public more time to appreciate local artists’ fine works, IC has extended the “Red December – Exhibition of Carlos Marreiros” and the “Exhibition of Works by Tam Chek Wun and Lao Chon Hong, Artists Winning the Grand Prize of the Jury Award of the Collective Exhibition of Macao Artists 2017” to 30 April and 3 May, respectively.


Monday passed with no new case of COVID-19 in Macao

No new case of COVID-19 was recorded in Macao on Monday (6 April). The tally of confirmed infection cases in the city remains at 44.



CE leads a silence tribute to mourn COVID-19 victims

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, led today Government officials to stand in a three-minute silence, in tribute to the victims in China of the novel coronavirus and its associated infection COVID-19.






Macao confirms 42nd COVID-19 case

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre has confirmed a new case of imported COVID-19 infection, taking to 42 the tally of confirmed cases in Macao.


UM to resume postgraduate oral defences on 4 May; students at coursework stage to continue with distance learning

In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Higher Education Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region and considering the actual circumstances of the University of Macau (UM), the university will resume PhD and master’s oral defences on 4 May. Students of PhD, master’s, and postgraduate certificate/diploma programmes at coursework stage will continue with distance learning until the end of this semester. Master’s and PhD students who are at research stage and need to return to the campus for special reasons, such as for their laboratory work and research, should seek approval from the university in advance. UM stresses that students must not return to the campus without approval.
