Macao Orchestra joins hands with violinist Clara Jumi Kang to present the concert “The Nordic Echoes” on Friday at St. Dominic’s Church

The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will present the concert “The Nordic Echoes” on Friday, 20 April, at 8pm, at St. Dominic’s Church. Under the baton of the Orchestra’s Music Director, Lu Jia, OM will join hands with young South Korean violinist Clara Jumi Kang to present the Violin Concerto in D minor by Sibelius. Admission is free.

Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – March 2018

The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP156.9 billion (USD19.41 billion) at the end of March 2018. The reserves decreased by 2.9% from the revised value of MOP161.6 billion (USD20.05 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-March 2018 represented 10 times the currency in circulation or 82.9% of pataca M2 at end-February 2018.


2018MIECF Guided Tours for over 30 Government Departments Enhancing Government-Industry Communications and Co-operation

The organisers of the 2018 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2018MIECF) held guided tours of the event for over 30 government departments, and more than 125 people participated.


Inauguration of 10th anniversary celebration of the “Tap Siac Craft Market” Over 200 local and foreign cultural and creative booths set up at Tap Siac Square for two consecutive weekends

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the “Tap Siac Craft Market” is held from 13 to 15 April and from 20 to 22 April for two consecutive weekends (Friday to Sunday), at Tap Siac Square. This year is the 10th anniversary of the “Tap Siac Craft Market”, featuring a diversity of cultural and creative activities including 220 local and foreign cultural and creative booths, 39 creative handicraft workshops, over 50 stage music performances, and interactive installations. All are welcome to participate and select their favourite products.


Continuance and optimization on provision of free circulation coin exchange service to the public

In order to respond proactively to public views and to facilitate the circulation of currency coins, the Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) has determined to continue and to enhance the free coin exchange service (including the exchange of coins for banknotes and vice versa), after the conduct of a review of the opinions collected regarding the service.


The Guangdong-Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park held the Macao Job Fair to promote exchange of talents between Guangdong and Macao

In order to facilitate talents from Macao to seize opportunities for development of regional cooperation and promote talent-to-talent exchanges between Guangdong and Macao, the Guangdong-Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as the Industrial Park) has held on April 15, the Macao Job Fair at Sheraton at Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel, Cotai Central. This Job Fair has attracted about 50 applicants by offering a wide range of job opportunities,15 of which were Macao people. By holding the Job Fair, the Industrial Park hopes to attract more talents from Macao to work in Hengqin by creating conditions to encourage talents from Macao to take part in the construction and development of adequate diversification of Macao's economy and jointly promote sustainable development in the Industrial Park.


Exhibitors and Participants Share “Green” Business Opportunities via MIECF

The three-day Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition 2018 (2018MIECF) was concluded today (14 April) with the event proving once again to be a huge success with all that attended. Many exhibitors and participants commented on the benefits of attending the event. MIECF serves as a “green” platform, helping companies to successfully expand in terms of “green” business, to achieve productive results in terms of co-operation, and broaden their horizons regarding “green” issues.
