Ruins of St. Paul’s will be closed on 6 August to enable the Cultural Affairs Bureau to conduct weeding maintenance and routine check-up
The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) will conduct weeding maintenance on the façade of the Ruins of St Paul’s and perform inspections of the bronze statues of the façade from 7a.m. to 5p.m. on 6 August 2019 (Tuesday), during which time the forecourt and the monument’s site (including the Museum of Sacred Art and Crypt) will not be accessible to the public.

Wages of construction workers and prices of construction materials for the 2nd quarter of 2019
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the average daily wage of construction workers decreased by 2.6% quarter-to-quarter to MOP743 in the second quarter of 2019, due to lower demand for construction workers following the near completion of several large-scale entertainment facilities projects. The average daily wages of local (MOP987) and non-resident construction workers (MOP597) fell by 2.9% and 4.3% respectively quarter-to-quarter.

The Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) followed the Hong Kong Monetary Authority to lower the Base Rate of the Discount Window today (1 August 2019) by 25 basis points to 2.50%, which discontinued the local policy-rate upcycle starting from December 2015.
