Bank's System Upgrade does not Affect the Services of the FSS

The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) said that the recent system upgrade of the Bank of China Macau Branch resulted in a change in the account numbers of its customers. This does not have any impact on individuals who use the services of the FSS through the said bank’s accounts. Members of the public can receive social security benefits through their old accounts as usual or can pay contributions by autopay, and they do not need to go to the FSS to update their bank account information even if their passbooks need to be replaced due to upgrade of bank account number.


Residential property price index for December 2017 – February 2018

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for December 2017-February 2018 decreased by 2.0% over the previous period (November 2017-January 2018) to 252.0. The indices for the Macao Peninsula (252.0) and Taipa & Coloane (251.9) dropped by 2.3% and 0.9% respectively.



2018 MIECF Green Business Co-operation Day on Thursday Providing a Forum for Discussion on the Development of Green Tourism and Green MICE

Many enterprises started mainstreaming environment protection in recent years. The “2018 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (2018MIECF) will have a series of events in the “Green Business Co-operation Day”, including the Green Forum and agreement signing ceremonies, which will be held on Thursday, 12th April at 14:30 in the Sicily Room of the Venetian Macao. The Forum will invite pioneers and experts in the field of environmental protection to discuss with the audience the eco-development model and the efficiency of the tourism and MICE industry. It is now open for registration.



Chief Executive to attend annual Boao forum in Hainan

The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, is to attend the opening on 10 April of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2018.




UM professor appointed associate editor of IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits

Prof Mak Pui In from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Macau (UM), who is also the associate director (research) of UM’s State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI, has been appointed associate editor of the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits (JSSC), the top scientific journal in the field of electronics. Prof Mak is the only academic from China to be appointed to this position.
