External merchandise trade statistics for February 2018
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total merchandise export for February 2018 amounted to MOP712 million, down by 21.2% year-on-year; value of re-exports (MOP613 million) decreased by 21.6%, with that of Footwear falling by 66.5%; moreover, value of domestic exports (MOP99 million) slid by 18.8%, with that of Tobacco decreasing by 41.3%. Total merchandise import rose by 29.7% year-on-year to MOP6.61 billion, of which imports of Watches, Beauty, cosmetic & skin-care products and Handbags & wallets expanded by 67.7%, 64.8% and 58.9% respectively. Merchandise trade deficit in February amounted to MOP5.90 billion.

The list of “Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018” was unveiled this evening (March 27) in Macao, at a gala event at Wynn Palace. Top chefs and restaurateurs from Macao and across Asia were the stars of the ceremony that gathered around 600 guests to announce the highly anticipated annual ranking of the fifty most influential restaurants in Asia and present several special awards. Organized with the support of Macao the Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the city hosted the world famous gourmet award for the first time, as one of the highlight events of “2018 Macao Year of Gastronomy”, following Macao's designation as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

In order to promote fundamental rights and duties of Macao residents, the Nationality Law and consular protection and consular services to Macao university students, the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of People’s Republic of China in the Macao SAR (hereinafter called Office of the Commissioner of MFA), the Identification Services Bureau (hereinafter called DSI) and the University of Macao (hereinafter called UM) jointly held a seminar on “Fundamental Rights and Duties of Macao Residents, Nationality Law, Consular Protection and Consular Services” in the University of Macao on 27 March 2018, so as to enrich the knowledge of students on the relevant aspects.
