The Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Mr Tam Chon Weng, said the Government planned to start offering outreach healthcare services to senior citizens in need by month-end.


UM professor appointed editor-in-chief of authoritative literary journal

Zhu Shoutong, deputy director of the University of Macau (UM) Centre for Chinese History and Culture and Distinguished Professor from UM’s Department of Chinese Language and Literature, has been appointed editor-in-chief of Literatures in Chinese published by Shantou University. It is the first time that Shantou University has appointed an external scholar as the editor-in-chief of the publication. It is also the first time that a scholar outside of mainland China has been appointed to this position.

Consumer Council conducted its second ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 7 for March the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included supermarkets near Iao Hon Market and the Border Gate area (Portas do Cerco ) in N. Sra. de Fátima Parish.


Convention Organisers Acknowledge Macao’s MICE Advantages and Expand Team Building via Experiencing Chinese-Portuguese Culture

As an emerging industry, Convention and Exhibition (commonly known as MICE) Industry has been steadily developing with a strategy of “prioritising conventions” in recent years. At the beginning of 2018, various conventions – from annual conference of animal nutrition product company involving hundreds of attendees, to software developer’s conference sizing thousands of participants of and medical equipment company, and even the conferences of medicine and healthcare company and internationally renowned enterprises that are expecting tens of thousands of participants – have set Macao as their business events destination. Most of the organisers expressed their recognition of Macao’s well-developed facilities for MICE and its reputation as UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Some of them even developed the combination of team building and in-depth experience of Macao by arranging for event attendees to visit different communities in Macao, assigning tasks for attendees to complete at cultural heritage sites and IPIM’s Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Exhibition Centre, inviting event attendees to workshops of making Macao local pastry. Such arrangements had enabled events participants to enjoy a unique convention trip.
